Another Week at the CSA
I know I've said similar things before, but it really is nice to be bringing home fresh fruit and veggies that are grown where I can actually watch them mature before they're picked. This week's pickup included:
I am so jealous of your CSA! Visiting the farm, picking your own, and getting a large bundle of food each week sounds wonderful. I really need to convince my husband that we should join one.
ReplyDeleteAs for the squash blossoms, they are really tasty, but they can be tough to work with (since they're so delicate). I don't know how Foodie Tots got hers to look so pretty!
Tiffany - Obviously my vote is for the CSA. This is my first year, and I don't think I'll ever stop. I absolutely love it. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it? Nothing beats fresh from the earth fruits and veggies. Fresh tomatoes, cukes? Bring on the olive oil and sea salt! I have a small garden and feel the same way, watching it all grow, knowing how pure it all is.
ReplyDeleteI am completely jealous of the CSA goodies. I always miss the sign up deadline for the one that's local, but I'm going to have to renew my efforts next Spring!
ReplyDeleteJoanne - I do love it. The best part is getting creative with it all and making some great (and not so great) new dishes. If only I had time to do more of that.
ReplyDeleteMeryl - It took me about four years of interest to finally remember in time to sign up. I'd always think about it in January and then forget by March. :)
