I'm doing a quick CSA post to document my shares for the last two weeks--without pictures because I forgot to take them before I started eating the food--so that I can keep track of what I've been getting. I'm particularly interested in seeing how different my shares are this year from last year due to the rainy weather we've been having.
Here's what I got in my week 5 share:
- 2 beets with greens
- 1 head of lettuce
- 1 bulb of new garlic
- 2 beets with greens
- 1 small bunch chard
- 1 head lettuce
- 1 bulb of new garlic

Looks like you are getting a nice CSA. All this rain has taken a toll on our options here too - what are the main differences you've seen this year compared to the last? One of the things we saw is that we had only 1 week of strawberries, whereas people tell me in previous years it was almost 4 weeks.
livinginalocalzone - Thanks for the comment and question. Last year we definitely got more strawberries -- at least four weeks. This year we only got two weeks worth and the shares were much smaller. As for everything else, last year by the end of June we had received plenty of peas, were already getting plenty of greens (chard and kale), and were overwhelmed with lettuce. This year in mid-July we're just starting to get chard, the lettuce isn't as plentiful and the peas were only around for a couple of weeks. Hopefully, now that we've been a bit drier, we'll start getting even more. I'm definitely looking forward to the late summer bounty, even if it comes a few weeks later than it did last year.
